Viola Levita Wright, 95, Pevely

Viola Levita Wright, 95, of Pevely died Sept. 13, 2021, in Pevely. Mrs. Wright was an inspector for Bussmann Fuse Co. She enjoyed gambling, going to the casino, traveling and spending time with her family. Born April 28, 1926, in Qulin, she was the daughter of the late John and Edith (Gunnels) Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband: Mayes Wright.

She is survived by a son: William (Amy) Parsley of Pevely; two stepsons: William (Diane) Dutton of Alabama and Donald Wright of Alabama; five daughters: Bertha (Donald) Vance of Poplar Bluff, Florence Sandage of St. Clair, Sharon Mader of Salem, Shirley Matthews of Pevely and Sondra Chatat of Poplar Bluff; three sisters: Geneva Vaughn of Bloomfield, Jean (Donald “Pete”) Pusczek of Indiana and Freda (Richard) Farris of Ellisnore; 18 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; a great-great-great-grandchild; a sister-in-law: Geneva Davis of Campbell; and many other family and friends.

She also was preceded in death by two sons: Carlon Wright Sr. and James Wright; four brothers: Vernon, William, Loren and Hubert Davis; two sisters: Lola and Genivie Davis; a brother-in-law: Arthuer Vaughn; three grandchildren: Scott Raddad, Tina Marie Wood and Alexander Nasalroad; and a great-grandchild: Charles Alanzo Moore.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 21) at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., Festus. Services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday (Sept. 22) at the funeral home. Burial will be in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 28 West 44th St., Suite 609, New York, N.Y., 10036.
