Velma Lorraine Boyer, 89, of De Soto died Aug. 13, 2021, at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis County. Ms. Boyer was a shipping and receiving clerk for Burris Printing Co. and a member of St. Joachim Catholic Church in Old Mines. She enjoyed crafting, making quilts, working in the yard with her flowers, especially her roses, and playing Yahtzee. Born July 15, 1932, in Fertile, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Nealie Mary (Missey) Valle. She was preceded in death by her husband: William Raymond Boyer.
She is survived by four daughters: Sandra Bailey of De Soto, Claudia (Charlie) Harper of Cadet, Debra McClelland of Barnhart and Cheryl (George) Ponzar of Cadet; a son: Gene (Gina) Boyer of St. Louis; a daughter-in-law: Sharron Boyer of Bonne Terre; a brother: Rick (Carol) Valle of Cadet; three sisters: Delores Dick of Kentucky, Viola (Norman) Crannick of St. Clair and Trudy (Bill) Hutchison of Hillsboro; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren, along with many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son: Joe Boyer; two sons-in-law: Wayne Bailey and George McClelland; four sisters: Nickie Turner, Esther Courtaway, Marcella Vandeven and Sharon Harper; and a brother-in-law: Gene Dick.
Funeral services and burial were private. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto.
