Smith, Tyler

Tyler Dewayne Smith, 25, of Festus died Aug. 6, 2020, at his home. Mr. Smith was a full-time student at Jefferson College, pursuing HVAC certification. He was a talented musician, a lover of nature and enjoyed skateboarding, fishing, a good cup of coffee or glass of sweet tea and a good hot shower. He was born June 21, 1995, in St. Louis, the son of Joseph Dewayne (Anita) Avery of House Springs and Christina Lee (Jeffrey) Rhodes of De Soto.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his longtime girlfriend: Brittany Bock of Imperial; five brothers: Mason Avery of House Springs, Jacob Sheputis of Tennessee, Austin Campbell of Arnold, Joseph B. Kary of De Soto and Gabriel Kary of De Soto; an aunt: Regina (Donald Roubidouz) Cameron of St Louis; and his grandfather: Dennis Avery of Potosi.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Norman Dale Smith, Anna L. Smith and Terri Evans.

There are no formal services planned at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto.
