Thomas L. Kennedy Jr., 75, Hillsboro
Thomas L. Kennedy Jr., 75, of Hillsboro died Oct. 15, 2021, at his home. Mr. Kennedy was a conductor for Terminal Railroad and was president of the United Transportation Union Local 469. He taught Operation Lifesaver rail safety classes to children and first responders. Born March 23, 1946, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Ivy “Georgette” (Ogletree) and Thomas L. Kennedy Sr.
He is survived by his wife: Diana (Clifton) Kennedy of Hillsboro; three sons: Thomas (the late Diana) Kennedy III of St. Peters, Shawn (Danielle) Kennedy of Hillsboro and Timothy (Bernadette) Kennedy of Hillsboro; six grandchildren: Hannah Paul, Colin Kennedy, Alivia Brandon, Riley Kennedy, Dylan Kennedy and Luna Kennedy; two great-grandchildren: Kennedy and Bryce Paul; a brother: David (Lisa) Kennedy of Festus; and four sisters: Virginia (the late Dennis) Ocello of Florida, Deborah (Bill) Becker of Festus, Georgia (the late Ramon) Paterno of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Ann (Bob) Hoffman of Festus; and a sister-in-law: Donna Kennedy of Festus.
He also was preceded in death by a brother: James Kennedy.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the memorial service at 4 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 30) at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 West Main, in Festus, officiated by Judge Timothy Patterson of Hillsboro. Attendees are asked to wear masks for the visitation and service. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
