Theodore M. “Ted” DeZutter, 89, of Kentucky, formerly of House Springs, died Oct. 12, 2019, in Possum Trot, Ky. Mr. DeZutter was a retired plastics engineer and a partner in Kingsway Construction Co. He was a member of Christian Fellowship Church in Draffenville, Ky. A,d served as pastor of the Trinity Christian Community. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War as a member of a tank division, and served with the Army Reserve until 1958. He was a member of American Legion Post 236 Honor Guard and held pastoral accreditation with the Independent Assemblies of God. Mr. DeZutter was born March 22, 1930, in Granite City, Ill., the son of the late Rose (Kish) and Francis Theodore DeZutter.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years: Freda (Hefner) DeZutter; two children: Frances (Daniel) Moore of Barnhart and Geoffrey (Annette) DeZutter of Crossville, Tenn.; one sibling: Lillian “Fritzi” (David) Reeves of St. Charles; six grandchildren: Lindsey Holm of El Paso, Ill., Christa Cooper of Nashville, Tenn., Marissa Ramos of Riverview, Fla., Zachary Moore of Barnhart, Brianne Mendoza of Dover, Fla., and Shauna Swartz of Riverview, Fla.; and six great-grandchildren: Annika Holm and Hanna Holm of El Paso, Ill., Luke Mendoza of Dover, Fla., Evan Ramos of Riverview, Fla., and Cassidy Cooper of Nashville, Tenn., with another on the way;
He was preceded in death by a brother: Arnold DeZutter.
A memorial service is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at Christian Fellowship Church in Draffenville, Ky., officiated by Pastor Richie Clendenen and Pastor Trevor Crocker. Burial is in the Antonio Cemetery in Antonia. A graveside service and memorial picnic is being planned for March.
