Sylvia F. (Baker) Jett, 91, Hillsboro

Sylvia F. (Baker) Jett, 91, of Hillsboro died June 14, 2022, in De Soto. Mrs. Jett was a retired nurse and had worked at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and working crossword puzzles. Born Oct. 24, 1930, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Marie (Lohman) and Frank Baker.

She is survived by six children: Herman (Patsy) Jett of Hillsboro, Jesse Jett of Imperial, Francis (Carol) Jett of High Ridge, Shirley (Robert) Raines of Jackson, Darlene Schicker of Austin, Texas, and Robin (Patrick) Thurman of Hillsboro; a brother: Frank Baker of Doe Run; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three children: Matthew, Tom and George; five siblings: Kenny, Charlie, June, Katie and Dotsy; and a great-grandchild: Phillip Steven.

A funeral service was held June 17 at Robert D. Brown Funeral Home in Hillsboro, with burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Cedar Hill. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital of St. Louis or Shriners Hospitals for Children. Arrangements were under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home.
