
Sharon Rochelle Head, 74, of De Soto died Jan. 7, 2022, at The Villas in De Soto. Mrs. Head was raised in St. Louis by her mother and grandmother and attended St. Louis public schools, graduating from Cleveland High School in 1965. After earning an associate degree from Jefferson College, a bachelor’s degree from Harris-Stowe State University and a master’s degree from Maryville University, she taught for 21 years in the Kingston K-14 School District in Cadet. She was a member of Hope United Church of Christ in De Soto. Born March 17, 1947, in St. Louis County, she was the daughter of the late Ruth (Koch) and Leslie Nugent. She was preceded in death by her husband: James Larry Head.
She is survived by a son: James Varon Head of De Soto; many nieces and nephews of the Ridenour and Head families; and her dog, Coty. She was preceded in death by her grandmother: Mae Golden Koch; a niece: Karen Ridenour; and a nephew: Shawn Head.
Mrs. Head chose to donate her body to the Washington University School of Medicine. Memorials may be made to any animal welfare-related charity. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
