Sharon Fay Sweet, 69, of Festus died Sept. 12, 2014, at St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis County. Mrs. Sweet was an active member and volunteer with the Mississippi Rivers Eagles in Crystal City. Born July 15, 1945, in Childress, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Fay (Boyd) and Bill Cawthon. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years: Ronald Dwayne Sweet.
She is survived by two daughters: Stacy (Michael Zimmer) Nichols of Festus and Michelle (Mark) Lambert of Festus; four grandchildren: Danny and Brian Thayer and Nathan and Brock Lambert; a brother: Vance (Evelyn) Cawthon of Mesquite, Texas; and a sister-in-law: Gwen Cawthon. She was preceded in death by a brother: Bill Cawthon.
Funeral services were held Sept. 16 at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus, officiated by the Rev. Sam Williams. Burial was in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
