Samuel Keith Portell, 63, of Pevely died March 2, 2020, at his home. Mr. Portell was a retired landscaper and in his free time enjoyed gardening, fishing, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and spending time with his dogs. Born June 27, 1956, in Cadet, he was the son of the late Samuel Patrick and Theresa May (Psortell) Portell.
He is survived by two sons: Keith Portell of Festus and Mark Portell of Sullivan; two daughters: Brandy Portell of Sullivan and Samantha King of Greenville, Ill.; two sisters: Sue (Joe) Kennedy of Pevely and Judy (Carl) Callahan of Cuba, Mo.; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Mark Portell; two nephews: Tony Drennen and Tim Litteral; and two sisters: Deloris Graces and Doris Litteral.
A funeral service was held March 9 at Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
