Ronald Ray Beckett, 69, of Festus died Feb. 21, 2022, at Festus Manor Nursing Center in Festus. Mr. Beckett was a retired planner/scheduler for the St. Louis Metropolitan Sewer District and a member of Ketha Heights Baptist Church. He was a charter member and original board member of the Mapaville Fire Department and served as a board member and president after it became the Mapaville Fire Protection District. He was born Nov. 22, 1952, in St. Louis, the son of the late Annabelle (Primo) and Stanley Beckett.
He is survived by his wife: BaLinda (Oster) Beckett; a daughter: Angel (Nathan) Overberg of Festus; three sons: Gary W. (Barbara) Beckett of Las Cruces, N.M., Ronald R. (Mina) Beckett of El Paso, Texas, and Bobby (Sausha) Hendricks of Festus; a brother: Wayne (Theresa) Beckett of Festus; a sister: Marilyn McCarthy of Hoenwald, Tenn.; two grandsons: Chris (Stephanie) Reed of Goldsboro, N.C., and Jackson Overberg of Festus; and three great-grandchildren: Michael, Alliegh and Vincent Reed.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a funeral service at noon Saturday, Feb. 26, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by the Rev. Randy Casey. Burial is in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to “Share the Blessing” at Ketha Height Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
