Rodney Delbert Price, 72, of De Soto died April 1, 2023, at his home. Mr. Price was a U.S. Navy veteran and a retired sergeant with the Crystal City Police Department. He was a member of the Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War and VFW Post 3777. Born Nov. 24, 1950, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Fannie Mae (Hopkins) and Delbert V. Price.
He is survived by two children: Jeremy Scott Price of St. Louis and Matthew Del Price of Arnold; a sister: Trudy (Dirk) Stringer of Oakville; and two brothers: Kevin J. (Suzy) Price of De Soto and Jeffrey E. Price of Bonne Terre.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto. Visitation is from 8-9 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 15 St. Joseph Street, in Bonne Terre. Burial is in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Bonne Terre. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
