Robert E. “Bob” Harrison, 80, of Festus died Aug. 1, 2017, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Harrison was the owner/operator of the Pevely Auto-Parts and Festus Auto-Parts stores, a member of Windsor Baptist Church in Imperial, Festus Elks Lodge 1721 and a life member of the Allied Auto Racing Association. He was a Missouri National Guardsman and an avid supporter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Born Aug. 19, 1936, in Lilbourn, he was the son of the late Clorene (Morris) and Ronald A. Harrison Sr.
He is survived by his wife: Joan (nee Koenig) Harrison; five children: Mary Frances (Ronald) Peppers of St. Charles; Susan Harrison of Barnhart; Robert Harrison Jr. of Millstadt, Ill.; Cindy Diaz of Festus; and Adam (Jay Kish Jr.) Harrison of Collinsville, Ill.; three brothers: Ronald A. (the late Joy) Harrison Jr. of Chicago, Ill.; Billy J. (Rhonda) Harrison of Barnhart; and Charles Harrison of Hillsboro; two sisters: Jerry D. (Robert) Riggs of Barnhart and Minnie (James Sr.) Shultz of Barnhart; five grandchildren: Kyle Harrison, Natalie Peppers, Brittney Peppers, Janae Harrison and Marc Harrison; a great-grandson: Makhi Harrison, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters: Jacqueline (the late Leroy) Sawyer and Joy Marie (the late Gerald Sr.) Becker.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 7, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., Festus. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Robert Sterling of Windsor Baptist Church. Burial is in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to Windsor Baptist Church.
