Jenkins, Richard

Richard Robert “Rich” Jenkins, 74, of Cabot, Ark., formerly of De Soto, died Sept. 25, 2020, at his home. Mr. Jenkins and his wife operated the Arlington Hotel in De Soto from 1996 to 2005. He was a member of Mountain Springs Baptist Church in Cabot, Ark., and a former member of the De Soto Lions Club, Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a talented artist who enjoyed painting, traveling, fishing, writing and spending time with family. Born Oct. 14, 1945, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Richard Irvin and Helen M. (Hartzell) Jenkins.

He is survived by his wife: Brenda Kaye (Parker) Jenkins; three sons: Jeremy (Crystal) Jenkins of Farmington, Kenneth “Kenny” Mueller-Jenkins of Rolla and Richard (Lisa) Jenkins of Hillsboro; three daughters: Misty (Mark) Stone of Brewton, Ala., Kimberly Jenkins of Cabot, Ark., and Sarah (Marc) Tirres of Freeport, Fla.; three sisters: Sue (Robert) Vinyard of Caledonia, Joy Ellen Baker of Maryland Heights and, Sherry Jean (Louis) Volner of Union; 15 grandchildren: Lacey Mueller, Alex O’Keane, Sadie Stone, Elijah Stone, Cassidy Coles, Sierra Coles, Bobby Euton, Makayla Tirres, Shylah Tirres, Cayden Tirres, Gage Tirres, Kyle Jenkins, Connor Jenkins, Brenden Jenkins and Trenten Jenkins; and three great-grandchildren: Ella O’Keane, Edwart Rhett O’Keane and Jackson Butler.

He was preceded in death by a sister: Donna Lee Orlando.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main St., in De Soto. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at the funeral home, followed by burial in the Mount Lebanon Cemetery in St. Louis. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
