Richard E. Watkins, 86, of French Village died Sept. 25, 2021. Mr. Watkins was a carpenter by trade and a member of the Carpenters Union. He was a member of Goose Creek Baptist Church, which he helped build. Born June 8, 1935, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Bob and Lorean Watkins. He was preceded in death by his wife: Martha EstaLee Watkins
He is survived by two children: Carl Watkins and Carolyn Henderson; 10 grandchildren: Tony Watkins, Jennifer Watkins, Jeremy Dunham, Josh Dunham, Katie Iverson, Matthew Watkins, Corey Robison, Kayleigh Jackson, Kyle Watkins and Keith Watkins; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister: Geraldine Kennon; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by four children: Richard L. Watkins, Ray Watkins, Tony Watkins and Rhonda Dunham; a granddaughter: Nicole Robison; one great-grandchild; and three siblings: Bobby Watkins, Johnny Watkins and Dora Mae Davis.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd, in Arnold. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 1, at the funeral home. Burial is in the Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Arrangements are under the direction of Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home.
