Ralph Edward Propst, 89, of Festus died July 13, 2020, in Festus. Mr. Propst was a retired hod carrier with the Laborers Union in St. Louis as well as a farmer. He was a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Army. Born Feb. 4, 1931, in Crystal City, he was the son of the late Hazel June (Barks) and Ezra Gilbert Propst. He was preceded in death by his wife: Rose “Isabel” (Grobe) Propst.
He is survived by a son: Mike (Kaye) Propst of Festus; a daughter: Jeanette Elaine (Leonard) Keller of Festus; six grandchildren: Amy (Kevin) Smith, Patrick (Kami) Propst, Matthew (Julie) Propst, Patrika Elaine Keller, Krissie (John) Keen and Elizabeth (Josh) Hill; and eight great-grandchildren: Areena Smith, Sebastian Smith, Hailey Propst, Jada Propst, Asher Propst, Hines Propst, Kaylenn Keen and Gabby Hill.
He was preceded in death by a son: Dave Annis Propst; a sister: Mabel Hatcher; and a great-grandson: Cole Propst.
Funeral services were private. Burial was in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
