Patsy Ann “Pat” Simmons, 76, of Festus died Dec. 18, 2020, at Festus Manor Nursing Center. Mrs. Simmons was retired as a cook with the De Soto School District. She was born Jan. 15, 1944, in Illinois, the daughter of the late Albert and Edna (Covington) Dyle. She was preceded in death by her husband: Billy Joe Simmons.
She is survived by two children: Lisa Pope of House Springs and Patty (Tracy) Lovell of Washington, Mo.; four stepchildren: Linda Hope of Washington, Brian Simmons of Union, Jeff Simmons of Union and Dean Simmons of Union; three siblings: Linda Minner, Dianne Boone and Marty Thomason, all of Granite City, Ill.; four grandchildren: Jason, Jeremy, Matt and Michael; four great-grandchildren: Nathaniel, Tyler, Natalie and Cullen; and dear friend Elaine Simmons of De Soto.
She was preceded in death by a stepson: Mark Simmons; a sister: Wanda Wente; and a brother: Jerry Thomason.
A funeral service was held Dec. 21 at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto, officiated by John Piet. Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements were under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
