Glaze, Oda

Oda Ray Glaze, 93, of Pevely died Oct. 15, 2015, at the Missouri Veteran’s Home in Cape Girardeau. Mr. Glaze was the owner and operator of Glaze Welding in Pevely and a member of Masonic Lodge 338. He attended the First Baptist Church of Festus-Crystal City. Born Jan. 25, 1922, in Mulberry, Ark., he was the son of the late Sara Melissa “Sally” and Edward “Ed” James Glaze. He was preceded in death by his wife: Flora Dean (Elder) Glaze.

He is survived by five sons: Ronnie (Susan) Glaze of Bonne Terre, Dwight (Joyce) Glaze of Crofton, Md., Warren (Jan) Glaze of Pevely, James “Jake” (Cathy) Glaze of Cadet and Barry (Caroline) Glaze of De Soto; a son-in-law: Larry Rawlins of Desloge; 27 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters: Sharon Glaze and Debbie Rawlins; a son: Guy Glaze; three sisters; and five brothers.

Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home in Pevely. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, at the funeral home, officiated by Dr. Charles McLain. Burial is in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Pevely. Memorials may be made to the Missouri Veteran’s Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
