Linda Susan (Niskanen) Williams, 60, of Hillsboro died Sept. 15, 2023, in St. Louis County. Mrs. Williams, a 1982 Fox High School graduate, was a dispatcher with Jefferson County 911 and a police dispatcher with Sunset Hills. She loved gardening, bird watching and her dogs, but especially spending time with her grandchildren. Born Aug. 10, 1963, in Fort Bragg, N.C., she was the daughter of Helga (Kollmar) and Ron Sims.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband: James D. Williams of Hillsboro; three sons: Josh (Shylah) Williams of Hillsboro, Jacob (Candace) Williams of De Soto and James (Laura) Williams of Festus; five grandchildren: Tucker, Tanner, Tinley, Sawyer and Oscar; four brothers: Frank Kollmar of Germany, Bruce Niskanen of Arnold, Mike Niskanen of Arnold and Larry Sims of O’Fallon; a sister: Nicole Sims of Hillsboro; and many other family members and friends.
A memorial service is scheduled from 3-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, at Elks Lodge 1721, at 4 Elks Club Drive, in Crystal City. The family encourages anyone who has a photo of Linda to bring it along to share. Memorials may be made by planting a tree or flowers in her memory. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert D.
