William Thomas "Tom" Schilling III, 84, of Barnhart died Jan. 22, 2026. Mr. Schilling was a member of the American Legion, VFW and the Arnold Elks Lodge. He loved to sing and go dancing with his wife. Born Sept. 1, 1941, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Opal (Blake) and William T. Schilling II.
He is survived by his wife: Shirley (Shadden) Schilling; two children: Jeffrey (Michelle) Schilling and Christopher Schilling; two grandchildren: Michelle Renna and Louis (Tabby) Schilling; a sibling: Debbie (the late Freddie) Costello; and a sibling-in-law: Gizella Schilling; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by three siblings: Robert Schilling, Michael Schilling and Steven Schilling Sr.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. A funeral service is scheduled from 11-11:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, at the funeral home. A committal service will follow at noon in Shepherd Hills Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to a veteran’s charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home.
