William Edgar Salisbury, 93, of Festus died Jan. 22, 2025. Mr. Salisbury was a contract shop inspector for Union Pacific Railroad. He was a member of B.P.O.E. Lodge 689 and Masonic Lodge 119 A.F. & A.M. Born April 25, 1931, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Edgar and Althea (Whaley) Salisbury.

He is survived by his wife: Vivian (Gunnett) Salisbury of Festus; three children: Ann Marie (David) Couser of Phoenix, Ariz., Elizabeth (Dennis) Popek of Fairview Heights, Ill., and Robert (Illana) Salisbury of Phoenix, Ariz.; two stepchildren: Karleene (Gerald) Fortney-Pontius of Festus and Joe (Susan) Jackson of Castle Rock, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five step grandchildren; 12 step great-grandchildren; and five step great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son: Mark Salisbury; a son-in-law: Lawrence Fortney; a brother: Glenn Salisbury; and a granddaughter: Jamie Salisbury.

Visitation is scheduled from noon until services at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N Main, in De Soto, officiated by the Rev. Tish Green. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Festus-Crystal City, 113 Grand Ave., Festus, 63028. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
