Wallace Gene Crow Jr., 75, formerly of Valles Mines, died Jan. 18, 2025, at Belleview Valley Nursing Center in Iron County. Mr. Crow served in the U.S. Army and was a carpenter and farmer. Born Aug. 9, 1949, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late LaVerne Theresa (Darian) and Wallace Gene Crow Sr.
He is survived by two daughters: Christina Crow of Arnold and Kate Crow of Chicago, Ill.; four grandsons: Cory Dunman, Joseph (Ayana) Nelson, Zachary Nelson and Bobby Kribs; three great-grandchildren: Dante Dunman, Lyon Nelson and Noah Nelson; and eight siblings: Frank (Linda) Crow of Valles Mines, Ivan (Kim) Crow of Valles Mines, Judy (Rudy) Radford of Barnhart, Candy (the late Doug) McKinstry of Imperial, Lisa (the late Joe) Catlow of Valles Mines, Ollie Crow of Imperial, Kathleen (the late Ken) Goodbread of Olive Branch, Ill., and Terry (Don) Grimm of Barnhart; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Randy Crow; and a niece: Ashley Crow.
Visitation is scheduled from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27, at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will follow in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
