Vernon L. Sullivan, 79, of Arnold died Aug. 29, 2024, at his home. Mr. Sullivan worked as a supervisor of facilities for the Fox C-6 School District, and he served on the Fox Board of Education for 16 years and was an Arnold Ward 3 city councilman for 14 years. He also served 21 years on the Arnold Food Pantry Board. Born Feb. 23, 1945, in Piedmont, he was the son of the late Iva Sullivan (Lewis) and Fred L. Sullivan.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Glenda R. Sullivan.
He is survived by three sons: Steven (Mara) Sullivan of Washington, Mo., David Duncan of Arnold and Brad (Cassie) Duncan of Imperial; seven grandchildren: Carissa (Devin) Laster of Imperial, Coby Sandlin of St. Louis, Katie Duncan of Charleston, S.C., Taylor Duncan of Imperial, Cade Duncan of Imperial, Zachary Sullivan of Washington, Mo., and Andrew Sullivan of Washington, Mo.; three great-grandchildren: Conner, Carsyn and Camryn; and many other family members and friends.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in south St. Louis County. An additional visitation is scheduled for 11 a.m. until services at noon Wednesday, Sept. 4, at New Hope Methodist Church, 3921 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. Burial will be in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the Arnold Food Pantry, 2024 Key West Drive. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis South County Chapel.
