Vernon Brewer, 91, of High Ridge died Nov. 14, 2025, in Fenton. Mr. Brewer worked as a dump truck driver for more than 35 years. He loved being outdoors, especially when he was deer hunting or spending time at his farm. The Black River was one of his favorite places to visit. Born Sept. 24, 1934, in Annapolis, he was the son of the late Tearl and Mable (Kemp) Brewer.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years: Grace (Roberts) Brewer; a daughter: Karen (Jeff) Bonacker; five grandchildren: Lisa (Randy) Pryor, Amanda (Bryan) Schnable, Daniel (Alexis) Bonacker, Rachael Bonacker and LuAnn (Dillon) Hires; great-grandchildren: Jacob Pryor, Andrew (Paige) Schnable, Trevor Schnable, Hunter Schnable, Barrett Bonacker, Mabel Bonacker, Lane Hires and one more on the way; a sister: Norma Hawkins; a close friend: Donnie Brown; and numerous other family members and friends.
He also was preceded in death by four siblings: Wilma Kelley, Lorene Kemp, Wanda Mehaffy and Bernice Middleton.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. until a funeral ceremony at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at Faith Community Church, 4824 Scottsdale Road, in House Springs, 63051. Interment will immediately follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Cedar Hill. Memorials may be made to Faith Community Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
