Toni M. Dornseif, 61, of St. Peters died May 29, 2026, at her home. Mrs. Dornseif had a 40-year career as a frontline healthcare worker and medical office manager, during which she was admired by her patients and colleagues. She was a servant leader who was deeply involved in her church, ministry work and numerous Bible studies and women’s life groups throughout the years. There, she championed diversity, equity and inclusion. She loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She created memories through family vacations, camping trips, road trips and cabin weekends, and her home was filled with laughter, connection and friendship. Known for her hospitality, she enjoyed sharing delicious meals, baking, and trying new recipes. She also enjoyed cozy coffee shops, fall weather, winery outings and her Basset Hounds. Born July 28, 1964, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late JoAnn (Caughron) Sample and Donald Sample.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years: Daniel W. Dornseif; two children: Alexis (Kevin) Roepe and Daniel O. (Christopher Sledd) Dornseif; two grandchildren: Lillian and Hattie Roepe; a sibling: Robin (Charles) Hicks; sister-in-law: Linda Sample; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Tracey Kay; and a brother: Mark Sample.
A visitation is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. until a celebration of life at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at Christ Church Cathedral, 1210 Locust St., in St. Louis. Memorials may be made to Pedal the Cause to support ongoing cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and Siteman Kids at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
