Fina, Gregg

Rev. Gregg Lawton Fina, 64, of Bloomsdale died Aug. 15, 2025, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. The Rev. Fina grew up in Hope, N.J. He served for 10 years in the U.S. Air Force in the Office of Special Investigations during the Gulf War Era. He was the owner/operator of Fina Dental Laboratory in Festus. He served as pastor of New Hope Baptist Church in Horine, was a member of the Jefferson Baptist Association and served as chaplain for Missouri Baptist Disaster Relief. He graduated with a master of divinity degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was also a doctoral student at Midwestern Theological Seminary. Born May 6, 1961, in Red Bank, N.J., he was the son of the late Margaret Patricia (Rooney) and John Joseph Fina.

He is survived by his wife: Dawn (Gouger) Fina; five children: Jaime (Eli) Vaughn of Bloomsdale, Stacey (Tyler) Blank of Hematite, Robert (Naomi) Fina of De Soto, Michael (Cassandra) Fina of Imperial and Samantha (Dakota) Swanson of Festus; 19 grandchildren: Evelyn, Natalie, Ruby, Charlie and Hensley Vaughn, Madison, Veronica and Simon Blank, Axel, Nellie, Margaret, Greta and Harvey Fina, Joanna, Rylie, Haeven and Malachi Fina and Jaimeson and Greyson Pasley; four brothers: Stephen (Susan) Fina of Florida, Scott (Barbara Courain) Fina of California, Bruce (Mary Jo) Fina of Florida and Kerry (Kelli Kraft) Fina of Nebraska; and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sister: Kathleen Fina.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Aug 22, at Faith Baptist Church, 11835 Hwy. CC, in Festus. Visitation will resume from 9 a.m. until funeral services at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at the church, officiated by Pastor Matt Culbertson. Burial with full military honors will follow in Sandy Cemetery of Hillsboro.
