Teresa Gail “Teri” Edwards Stis, 69, of Festus died on Sept. 13, 2026. Teri was known for loving her family, God and her church. She was a member of Berean Missionary Baptist Church in Festus and had also spent many years at the Hematite Christian Church. She had a wonderful nursing career, working in various locations, and had a passion for working with the elderly that continued as long as she was able. After she retired, she used her spare time to volunteer and did "in-home" nursing for friends. She ran a shelter on the River Des Peres for the Red Cross during the flood of 1995. She also volunteered at the Ozark Food Pantry, helping to prepare the donations. She loved spending time with friends and family and will be remembered for serving at her church with an open heart and great enthusiasm. Born Aug. 23, 1957, in St. Charles, she was the second child of the late Norman and Wilma (Sago) Edwards.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Richard Stis.
She is survived by a brother: Bruce (Jane) Edwards of Overland Park, Kan.; a sister: Beth (John) Schaefer of Springfield; a nephew: Chris (Hannah) Edwards; and a niece: Amy Dear.
A memorial service was held Sept. 16 at Berean Missionary Baptist Church in Festus, officiated by Pastor Oats.
