Sandy Marie Malloy, 81, of Festus died Feb. 20, 2025, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Malloy was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and worked as a dental assistant for 50 years for the practice of Drs. Ray Weible, Ron Chamberlain and John Empkey. She retired at age 70. Born Sept. 7, 1943, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Laura Martha (Aubuchon) Bourisaw-Roth and Daily Bourisaw. She was the stepdaughter of the late Francis Roth.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years: Ronald Malloy; two daughters: Lynn (Dave) Stanley of Festus and Tracy (James) McPeters of Festus; a sister: Janet (the late Steve) Martin of Festus; seven grandchildren: Katie (Mike) Zuchek, Nicholas (Kacie) Stanley, Jenna (Travis) Cotton, Maison (Shawn Geary) Oberle, Jamison Oberle, Remington McPeters and Maclayne McPeters; seven great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law: Joyce (the late Fred) Laiben of Festus; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled from 9-10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 28, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. A memorial Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 555 Bailey Road, in Crystal City, officiated by Father Michael Boehm. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
