Spicer, Robert

Robert L. Spicer Jr., 69, of Bonne Terre died Oct. 23, 2023. Mr. Spicer worked as a mechanic for many years and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, working outside in his garden and playing and watching sports, especially football and baseball. Born Aug. 11, 1954, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Norma Jean (Cayce) Spicer and Robert L. Spicer Sr.

He is survived by his wife: Linda Spicer of Bonne Terre; four daughters: Lewanna (Kelly) Waggoner of St. Louis, Desiree Spicer of Canton, Ill., Bobbie Marie Spicer of Germany and Alicia Spicer of Ohio; a brother: Brent (Cindy) Spicer of Lawson; two sisters: Lillian Manning of Crystal City and Sonya Spicer of Festus; three grandchildren: Shelby, Jadyn and Ryleigh; two great-grandchildren: Jaime and Daisy; an uncle: Albert (Donna) Spicer of Festus; a brother-in-law: Paul Scheel of Lake of the Ozarks; a sister-in-law: Lisa Spicer of St. Louis; two dogs: Sadie and Mile; and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by a brother: Byrnes Spicer; and three sisters: Rosalind Cayce, Lana Scheel and Byrna (Jerry) Nash.

Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until services at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 2 at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Avenue, in Festus, officiated by Dr. Bradford Laubinger. Burial will be in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Following the burial, there will be a repast at the American Legion Post 253 in Festus. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, Md., 21741, or to the Humane Society of Missouri, 1201 Macklind Avenue, St. Louis, 63110. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
