Robert Jay “Biers” Biersach, 80, of De Soto died May 3, 2024. Mr. Biersach worked as a mail carrier for United States Postal Service for more than 37 years. He was a member of the Peace Corp. He enjoyed reading, music, traveling, gardening, photography and spending time with family and friends. Born Nov. 12, 1943, in Evanston, Ill., he was the son of the late Frank and Janet (McCarthy) Biersach.
He is survived by a son: Omero McKnight of De Soto; a daughter-in-law: Kelsey McKnight; a granddaughter: Averi McKnight; two grandsons: Milo McKnight and Mason McKnight; a brother: John Paul Biersach of Champaign, Ill.; three nieces: Laurie (Biersach) Husak of Richmond, Va., Linda (Biersach) Matkowski of Champaign, Ill., and Larisa Biersach of Honolulu, Hawaii; two nephews: Ben Yuri Biersach of Los Angeles, Calif., and David Biersach of Manorville, N.Y.; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Ann Biersach; and two brothers: Frank Biersach Jr. and William Biersach.
Services are private. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Missouri Chapter, 11433 Olde Cabin Road, in St. Louis, 63141. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto.
