Bingman, Robert

Robert Cecil Bingman, 96, of Hillsboro died March 4, 2024, in De Soto. Mr. Bingman was raised in Morgan County, Ohio, where he attended high school and was a member of the football team. He was a lineman and spent more than 60 years as a member of I.B.E.W. 309. He enjoyed his farm, hunting and fishing. Born June 15, 1927, in Morgan County, Ohio, he was the son of the late Curtis and Leora (Harkins) Bingman.

He is survived by two sons: Robert “Mike” (Tammy) Bingman of Hillsboro and Patrick M. (Sally) Bingman of Hillsboro; a daughter: Nancy (Bob) Cecil of Spring City, Tenn.; eight grandchildren: Mike, David, Bridget, Heather, Henry, Kallie, Patrick, and Kathy; 14 great-grandchildren: Sierra, Dylan, Alec, James, Henry, Tristan, Alyssa, Joshua, Andrew, Dustin, Kalia, Payton, Ella and Remi; and eight great-grandchildren: Delta, James, Kalvin, Karman, Bradley, Ivy, Linda and Hudson.

A memorial gathering is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a service at noon Saturday, March 16, at Robert D. Brown Funeral Home, 103 Fourth St., in Hillsboro. Burial will follow in Peaceful Meadows Cemetery in Hillsboro. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home.
