Robert “Bob” Griffin, 93, of Dittmer died Sept. 7, 2026, in Cedar Hill. Mr. Griffin enjoyed doing yard work, gardening, fishing, hunting, camping and hiking. After retiring from his career as a laborer, he worked as a security guard for 10 years. He also loved his dogs, who brought him plenty of companionship and joy throughout the years. He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, his hardworking nature and the simple joys he found in life. Born June 29, 1933, in Culver, Kan., he was the son of the late Ulysses and Bertha (Knowles) Griffin.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 68 years: Fannie (Miller) Griffin; two children: Katrina (Jim) McAfee and Cindy (Chris) Meyer; five grandchildren: Brandon (Nichole) Meyer, Brad (Megan) Meyer, Brooke Meyer, Isabelle McAfee and Peyton McAfee; great-grandchildren: Jensen, Blaine, Vivienne, Watson, Ava, Leo, Zoey, Serenity, Amelia and one more on the way; a sister: Betty Todd; two sisters-in-law: Lolita Griffin and Chris Griffin; and numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by five siblings: Austin Griffin, Roy Griffin, Donnie (the late Maxine) Griffin, Charlie Griffin and Clyde Griffin.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a funeral service at noon Friday, Sept. 11, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Cedar Hill. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
