Richard Mark Cox, 71, of Festus died July 10, 2024, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Cox worked as the building commissioner for the city of Crystal City. He enjoyed boating, hunting, and riding his motorcycle with his brother. Born March 30, 1953, in Festus, he was the son of the late Richard and Betty Lee (McAntire) Cox.
He is survived by a brother: Randy Cox of Festus; a nephew: Kyle Cox of Crystal City; two nieces: Christy Roth of Festus and Teresa Summers of Festus; and numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until services at noon, Friday, July 19, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Drive, in Festus, officiated by the Rev. Ryan Sutton. Interment will follow in the Chapel Hill Mausoleum in Cedar Hill. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD, 21741. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
