Brown, Richard 'Rick'

Richard A. “Rick” Brown, 70, of Hillsboro died March 1, 2026, at his home. Mr. Brown retired from the Chrysler Automobile Manufacturing Plant in Fenton in 2006. He was a member of U.A.W. Local 110. He enjoyed working on cars (Mopar) and going to car shows and shooting matches. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Born Feb. 15, 1956, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Julius S. and Ruby M. (Harper) Brown.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years: Judy Lorraine (King) Brown of Hillsboro; a child: Ricky (Rachelle) Brown of De Soto; a granddaughter: Makayla Brown; five siblings: Pauline (Paul) Harrison of Valles Mines, Leona (Raymond) Skaggs of Valles Mines, Ruby “Sissy” Brown of Potosi, Julius “Dude” (Diane) Brown of Park Hills and Ken (Carla) Brown of De Soto; two sisters-in-law: Janet “Snookie” Brown of Bonne Terre and Faye Brown of Farmington; and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by four brothers: Danny Brown, Alvin Brown, Bobby Brown and Leroy Brown; and two sisters-in-law: Joan Brown and Carol Brown.

Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until services at noon Friday, March 6, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto, officiated by Marty Harrison. Burial will be in Lost Creek Cemetery in Potosi. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
