Rhys Tyler Hammers, infant, of Festus died Oct. 20, 2025, at St. Louis Children's Hospital. Born Oct. 1, 2025, in Crystal City, Rhys was the son of Trinity (Yeaman) and Austin Hammers of Festus.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sibling: Terra Eileen Hammers of Festus; grandparents: Autumn (Chuck) Johnson of Festus, Mike (Corriene) Yeaman of Lemay and Cindy (John) Powell Hurley of Festus; two aunts: Zoey Johnson of Festus and Susie Yeaman of Lemay; four uncles: Andrew Hammers of Festus, Mathew Shoemaker of Cadet, Logan Yeaman of Lemay and Mikol (Jennelle) Yeaman of St. Charles; a great-grandmother: Phyllis Bergner of Hillsboro; a great-aunt: Patti (Scott) Powell Mollet of St. Charles; a great-uncle: Steven (Tanya) Bergner of Hillsboro; several cousins; and many other family members.
He was preceded in death by two great-grandfathers: Charles Edward Powell and James Woodrow Bergner.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary, Robert Brown Chapel, in Hillsboro.
