Raymond E. Breakfield, 77, of Bonne Terre died July 20, 2025. Mr. Breakfield worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 38 years and was an active member of the letter carriers’ union. He served in the Jefferson County Sheriff's Reserves for 15 years and also in the U.S. Army National Guard for eight years. He was born Dec. 16, 1947, in St. Louis
He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Charlotte (Van Hoogstraat) Breakfield; five children: Raymond (Angela) Breakfield Jr., Steven Breakfield, Mark (Natalie) Breakfield, Margaret (Daniel) Nahlik and Sarah (Marc) Bousquet; 15 grandchildren: Richard (Julie), Nicholas (Christine), Zachary (Kortney), Morgan, Catherine, Alexander, Ian, Dylan, Zoe (Noah), Andrew, Marissa, Zyanne (Grant), Lucas, Zia and Grace; 15 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by two siblings: Lenny (Hazel survives) Breakfield and Janice Breakfield.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Friday, July 25, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis County. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, July 26, at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis South County Chapel.
