Ramon Charles Meredith, 86, of Arnold died Feb. 2, 2024, at Woodlands Skilled Nursing. Mr. Meredith was a middle school teacher and basketball coach in Middletown, Ohio for 30 years. After retiring in 1990, he entered full-time ministry, serving as lead pastor for the Hartsville Church of Christ in Indiana. and the Lincoln Trail Christian Church in Irvington, Ky. He was a founding member and elder of the Trenton Church of Christ in Ohio, an elder at the De Soto Christian Church and had been a member of the Concord Church in St. Louis for over seven years. He found fulfillment in coaching basketball and mentoring young men in the church. His hobbies included gardening, RVing and participating in almost any sport. Born March 6, 1937, in Kinsman, Ohio, he was the son of the late Treva (Jewell) and Kenneth Meredith.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years: Mary Ann (Blackmore) Meredith; two children: Teresa Campbell of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Jennifer (Rob) Ladage of Arnold; six grandchildren: Valerie Juarez of Sunnyvale, Texas, Josh Campbell of Oklahoma City, Okla., Alex Ladage of Arnold, Allison Ladage of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Andrew Ladage of Ballwin and Audrey Ladage of Fenton; and two great-grandchildren: Alma and Leah, both of Sunnyvale, Texas.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Richard Meredith.
A celebration of life was held Feb. 12 at Concord Church in south St. Louis County, officiated by Pastors Tim Richards and Rusty Wirt. Inurnment will be held in Bethany United Church of Christ Cemetery in Lebanon, Ohio. Memorials may be made to the "Beyond the Rings" Olympic Evangelism Fund of Concord Church or to any charity. Arrangements were under the direction of Kutis South County Chapel.
