Patricia Ann Cavaness, 73, of Festus died Jan. 3, 2026, at her home. Ms. Cavaness was a retired autoworker from the Chrysler plant in Fenton, and she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered as a caring and loving person who was there to lend a helping hand. Born March 2, 1952, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Lucille (Hilgert) and Fred Kassel.
She is survived by a daughter: Lucinda Lynn Cavaness of Arnold; a son: Michael S. Cavaness of Festus; two sisters: Sharon Marie Wiard of Mattoon, Ill., and Mary Ann (the late James) Mayberry of Springfield; two grandchildren: Kristopher (Lucille) Gram of High Ridge and Megan A. (Johnny) Parlow of Imperial; five great-grandchildren: McKenzie Parlow, Alexis Gram, Raphael Gram, Jacoby Gram and Lawrence Pfifer; and many other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death by a sister: Barbara Jean Kassel.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Jeffco Shop with a Cop. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
