Dornseif, Milton

Milton Otto Dornseif, 87, of Arnold died Sept. 2, 2025, at Crystal Oaks Long-Term Care. Mr. Dornseif was a firefighter for Mehlville Fire Protection District for 28 years before retiring in 1996. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard. Mr. Dornseif was a devoted farmer for more than 80 years in his hometown of Arnold and on the Dornseif family farm in Perryville. He also was a skilled carpenter for many years, building homes, birdhouses and everything in between. He was a committed member of the Meramec Arnold Eagles Club and, throughout the years, would volunteer at barbecues, bingo nights and to snow plow the parking lot. He also was a member of the Mattese Club since 2013. Born Feb. 22, 1938, at home in Kimmswick, he was the son of the late Otto and Marcella (Henning) Dornseif.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Ruth Dornseif.

He is survived by three sons: Daniel (Toni) Dornseif of St. Peters, Thomas (Vlenda) Dornseif of Hillsboro and Michael Dornseif of De Soto; a sister: Dorothy (Dornseif) Flamm of Arnold; four stepchildren: Debbie (Carl) Frank of Fenton, Michael (Debbie) Foster of Arnold, Donna Foster of Imperial and Jimmy Foster of Fenton; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by a brother: Raymond Dornseif; and stepson: Richard Foster.

Mr. Dornseif was cremated. A celebration of life is scheduled from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, at the Meramec Arnold Eagles, 1725 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. Memorials may be made to The BackStoppers, Inc. or to the organization of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home.
