Michael R. Turley, 80, of Festus died May 9, 2025, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Turley served in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps of the U.S. Navy and is a retired attorney. He was a charter member of the Jefferson County Planning and Zoning Commission and assisted with the formation of the Center for Emerging Technologies in St. Louis. He was a member of AMVETS Post 171, the Jefferson County Historical Society and MENSA International. Born March 7, 1945, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Mary Jeanne (Ogle) and Willis Richard “Dick” Turley.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years: Patricia (Ederle) Turley.
He is survived by a son: James Michael (Bronson Gobert) Turley of Katy, Texas; a daughter: Alisyn (Ryan) Beffa of Festus; three grandchildren: Gabby, Paige and Addie Beffa; a brother: Richard T. “Rick” (Sherrie) Turley of Draffenville, Ky.; two sisters: Pam Stolzer of Festus and Susan (Dennis) Hills of Farmington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
