Allgire, Michael

Michael Paul Allgire, 71, of Festus died May 6, 2024, at his home. Mr. Allgire retired from the Missouri State Highway Patrol after serving in law enforcement for 28 years. He ended his career as chief of police in Salem. Born Feb. 20, 1953, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Kathrine (Lalumondier) and Wilburn Allgire.

He is survived by his wife of 13 years: Judy (George) Allgire; six children: Michael (Ashley) Allgire Jr. of Festus, Brian “BJ” (Susan) Allgire of Licking, Amanda Rumble of Hillsboro, Makayla Allgire of Imperial, Carrie Frischman of St. Ann and Amanda Frischman of St. Louis; a sister: Mary K. (Mike) Siman of St. Louis; and 13 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother: Robert J. (the late Diane) Allgire.

Visitation is scheduled from 2-6 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. A funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday, May 19, at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Kim Ferguson. Memorials may be made to the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
