Michael Lee Mason, 63, of St. Louis County, formerly of Pevely, died March 10, 2025, at his home. Mr. Mason was a member of Mary Mother of the Church in St. Louis. He was part of his family’s catering business in North St. Louis: David Catering, Chow Mobile and Kitchen Fresh Foods. He worked for 12 years as a logistics planner in both the household goods and car carrier departments for UniGroup. Later, he worked as a courier for Crossroads Courier, delivering blood and other products, mostly within neighboring states. He enjoyed antiquing, fishing and repurposing old metal into jewelry and sculptures. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, good-natured spirit and goofy shenanigans. Born Nov. 28, 1961, in St. Louis, he was the son of Marian Sue (Venable) Mason of Festus and the late Robert Lee “Bob” Mason.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife: Carol (Yahl) Mason; and a brother: Mark (Stephanie) Mason of Bedford, Ind.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until a funeral Mass at noon Tuesday, March 18, at Mary Mother of the Church, 5901 Kerth Road, in St. Louis, officiated by Father Steve Robeson. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made for a memorial park bench in his honor through the Nature Tribute Program of St. Louis Country Parks, stlouiscountymo.gov. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
