Mary Sue Roberts, 79, of Crystal City died March 3, 2024, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Ms. Roberts, originally an award-winning photojournalist and editor for local newspapers, went on to pursue her dreams in California for many years, eventually retiring from American Honda in 2009 as a senior administrative assistant. In her retirement, she enjoyed working as editor-in-chief of Guardian Angel Publishing. She will be remembered for her positive demeanor and outlook on life. Born Dec. 15, 1944, in Crystal City, she was the daughter of the late Mary J. (Bachek) and Roderique J. “Bill” Burch.
She is survived by a son: Roderique Roberts of Crystal City; a granddaughter: Morgan S. Ritcher of St. Louis; and a brother: Raymond J. Burch of Crystal City.
She was preceded in death by a son: Darin Thomas Roberts; and a brother: Thomas E. Burch.
A memorial gathering and service will be held at a later date with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
