Marilyn N. Thebeau, 78, of De Soto died May 25, 2024, at her home. Mrs. Thebeau was a retired Hillsboro R-3 School District teacher. Born Aug. 31, 1945, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Roy William and Gladys (Crancer) Volkmann.
She is survived by her husband: Dale Edward Thebeau of De Soto; four children: Edward Garrigan of De Soto, Eric Garrigan of Grand Rapids, Mich., Christopher Thebeau of LaPorte, Texas, and Jared Thebeau of Atlanta, Ga.; three siblings: Roy Volkmann of Hudson, N.Y., Richard Volkmann of Maryland Heights and David Volkmann of Lake St. Louis; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Mrs. Thebeau chose to donate her body to Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, at Hillsboro Christian Church, 4865 Hwy. B, in Hillsboro, officiated by Andy Weaver. Memorials may be made to Hillsboro Christian Church Children’s Ministry. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
