Mae (Floyd) Schmidt, 88, of Arnold died July 16, 2024. Mrs. Schmidt loved gardening and spending time with all of her grandchildren. Born Feb. 4, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Ruth and Ed Floyd.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert G. Schmidt Sr.
She is survived by two children: Debbie (Denny) Piva and Bill (Mendy) Schmidt; grandchildren: Deanna Spengemann, Ricky Spengemann, Chris Spengemann, Ken (Kristen) Piva, Jeff Piva, David (Jamie) Mesey, Sean (Rachael) Schmidt, Natacia (Rick) Casper, Anthony Kilburn and Tyler Schmidt; five great-grandchildren: Kolton, Zada, Evan, Kyle and Olivia; five siblings: Ronnie (Pat) Floyd, Alice (late Henry) Shelby, Richard (Donna) Floyd, Jimmy (Marylea) Floyd and Bonnie (Tom) Stockman; and many other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death by two children: Robert G. Schmidt Jr. and Mary Amelung; a grandchild: Billy Schmidt Jr.; and eight siblings.
The family would like to thank the staff at Scenic View Nursing Home for their care.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa St., in St. Louis. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, at the mortuary. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary.
