Linda J. Ball, 73, of De Soto died Sept. 28, 2026, at her home. Mrs. Ball was a homemaker. Born Dec. 1, 1952, in Gideon, she was the daughter of the late Kathryn Lorene (Henley) Ford and Clarence Hatton.
She is survived by her husband: George W. Ball of De Soto; two children: Lisa (Mark) Durham of De Soto and Michael “Mike” Ball of De Soto; a stepson: George M. Ball of De Soto; three grandchildren: Mark (Katie) Dunham Jr., Katlin (Adam) Brock and Haley Ball; 10 great-grandchildren: Karly, Mark III, Christopher, Maxten, Loretta, Kayden, Madison, Riley, Zoey and Olivia; and three siblings: Danny (Patty) Hatton of St. Louis, Rhonda (the late Mike) Stuever of Sebring, Fla., and Lance (Michelle) Ford of Springfield.
She was preceded in death by a son: Ronald Hatton; a sister-in-law: Karen Hatton; and a brother-in-law: Mike Stuever.
Visitation is scheduled from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. A funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
