Lilliane Esther (Habib) Horn, 93, of Imperial died Sept. 18, 2026. Mrs. Horn was born in the village of La Goulette in Tunisia and survived WWII. She left home at the age of 19, coming to America. Not speaking English, she worked hard to assimilate into American culture. She met her husband through a mutual friend. After a brief time dating, they were engaged and married. As a couple, and after losing her husband, she enjoyed serving in various church functions and activities. They enjoyed traveling, dancing, cooking and spending time with their family and friends. She was born Feb. 17, 1933
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years: Sidney F. Horn Sr.
She is survived by two children: Joelle R. Schlater and Sidney F. (Debra) Horn Jr.; six grandchildren: Bryan Schlater, Timothy Moseley, Jayme Nanestad, Joseph Schlater, Josh (Michelle) Horn and Jesse (Brianna) Schlater; her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, in-laws, cousins and friends.
She also was preceded in death by a child: George E. Horn; and a grandchild: Ryan Horn.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis County. Visitation will resume from 9 a.m. until services at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at St. John's Evangelical United Church of Christ, 11333 St. John Church Road, in St. Louis. Interment will be in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis South County Chapel.
