Greenlee, Lawrence

Lawrence David “Larry” Greenlee, 72, of De Soto died Nov. 19, 2025, at his home. Mr. Greenlee started working at a very young age at Oakes Five and Dime and then at the local IGA grocery store, where he became the produce manager. He later worked at Schnucks and for De Soto Electrical Products, where he retired. However, his favorite job was working at Grant's Farm for Gussie Busch. Mr. Greenlee loved animals, and he had many on his own farm, along with a large garden and greenhouse. He was known for his green thumb. Born May 15, 1953, he was the son of the late Edwin and Bertha (DeClue) Greenlee.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years: Louise (Goedecke) Greenlee; a son: Bill Turbiville; three grandsons: Grant, Adam and Ben; two granddaughters: Fawn and Danielle; numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters: Bernice (Jerry) Staffelbach of Festus and Janet (James) Boyer of De Soto; a brother: James Greenlee Sr. of De Soto; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: George and Floyd Greenlee; a daughter: Laura (Turbiville) Greenlee; and a granddaughter: Aimee Turbiville.
