Kenneth Ray Williams, 70, of Festus died Aug. 26, 2026, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County. Mr. Williams was a retired over-the-road truck driver and spent more than 20 years on the road. He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed spending time fishing from his boat on the Meramec River. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles with his friend, Gene, and watching his son race four-wheelers. He loved working with his hands and always seemed to have something he was working on. He loved making new friends and enjoyed meeting people, talking with them and making them laugh. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his big heart, sense of humor, willingness to help others and the friendships he made throughout his life. Born Nov. 30, 1955, in Rock Island, Ill., he was the son of the late Ruby (Gathier) and Levi Williams.
He is survived by his wife: Elizabeth (Baughn) Williams; a son: Justin (Melissa) Williams of De Soto; a daughter: Mary (Gabriel) Shipley of Wilson, N.C.; two brothers: Jerry (Cindy) Williams of Davenport, Iowa, and Bill (Anita) Williams of Arkansas; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and friends.
A memorial gathering is scheduled from 11 a.m. until services at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Memorials may be made to the organization of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
