Kenneth Howard Goodwin Sr., 85, of Ozark died May 18, 2025, at the Baptist Home in Ozark. Mr. Goodwin served in the U.S. Army and National Guard. He was a union Teamster truck driver and worked for Goodwin Brothers Construction Co. He was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church, serving as a deacon, usher and greeter. He enjoyed traveling, camping and fishing. He and his wife traveled in their fifth-wheel RV for more than 15 years. Together, they saw all 50 states. He shared his love of travel and camping with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed making memories with his family at one of his favorite camping spots, Sam A. Baker State Park. Born March 27, 1940, in Herculaneum, he was the son of the late Thelma N. (Calahan) and Howard Donald Goodwin.
He is survived by his wife: Sharon L. (Ritter) Goodwin; three children: Kenneth H. (Terri) Goodwin Jr. of Lee’s Summit, Gregory L. (Pamela) Goodwin of St. Louis and Suzanne E. (Kevin) Fudge of Springfield; six grandchildren: Melissa A. Bruce, Amanda E. Goodwin, Angela N. Rose, Nicholas L. Goodwin, Logan M. Fudge and Ethan D. Fudge; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister: Cathy (the late William) Longley of Herculaneum.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Donna Jean (the late Gerald) McKay; and a brother: James H. (Nancy J. survives of St. Peters) Goodwin.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until services at noon Monday, June 2, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Burial with full military honors will be in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church Building Fund or the American Heart Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
