Judith Marie Boyer, 77, of Farmington died Aug. 4, 2024. Mrs. Boyer worked for the Farmington School District as a kitchen manager for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the De Soto VFW Post 1831 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards with her family, gardening and tending to her flowers and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a great cook. Born Feb. 10, 1947, in Bonne Terre, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Dorothy (Taplin) Filkins.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years: Wyman E. Boyer.
She is survived by three children: Michelle Jost, Richard “Richie” Boyer (Jolean) and Brian (Dani) Boyer; seven grandchildren: Allison Boyer, Andrew Boyer (Lizzie), Lauren Jost, Katelyn Boyer, Kelsey Boyer, Cash Boyer and Claire Boyer; two great-grandchildren: Edison Boyer and Elton Boyer; a sister: Joyce Boyer; a brother: Roy Filkins; a special niece: Nicole Pennock and family; and many other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death by a brother: Bob Filkins; and a special: brother-in-law: Earl Boyer.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home- Taylor Chapel, 111 E. Liberty St., in Farmington. Visitation will resume from 9 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, at the funeral home chapel, officiated by Pastor Michael Barton. Burial will follow in Hillview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home.
